About Me

Doug was born in Charlottesville but raised in Hampton Roads. He graduated from Princess Anne High School and attended Virginia Tech. He graduated from Tech with a BS in Business, a major in Management. His work experience includes retail, wholesale administration for a Military Brokerage.

Doug has been with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, or its predecessor, since 1990. His business is primarily Residential Resale but he has a portfolio of Property Management as well.

While he grew up in Virginia Beach, he’s lived in Norfolk most of his life and is one of the few agents who is comfortable selling throughout Hampton Roads, whether it’s the primary Southside cities or Suffolk or the Peninsula. He’ll go where, and learn the market where, his clients want.

Doug is married to Kathy Knack, an interior designer, and has three children. Ashby , the eldest, lives in DC and works with pre-school children. Matthew, the middle, is Executive Chef at Croc’s 19^th Street Bistro in Virginia Beach. Collin, the youngest, is an HR specialist with Best Buy and also lives in DC.
